A common pigeon with a crest. The panels on the wings are iridescent, and in direct sunlight look stunning (they are subdued on my image as this bird was in the shade). They make a loud whistling sound when they take off, which is meant as a warning to other birds in the area that danger is present. They have adapted very well to human urban environments.
