A young Dingo at O'Reilly's resort. This youngster had been hanging around the grounds for several days, despite the national Parks staff attempting to discourage it from doing so. The last I heard, National Park staff were going to euthanise it as they could not risk it being in a public area with lots of humans, including children. A very sad thing. Dingos have been known to attack humans on rare occasions. I have seen Dingos before, but this was the first time that I had One almost come up to where I was standing. It showed no real fear of humans and was quite inquisitive.

There is a large debate about the taxonomy of the Dingo, and thus, there are quite a few suggested Latin species names for it. I have chosen to go with Canis Dingo.
