Formerly known as both the Collared Kingfisher (still called this on some government wildlife websites) and Mangrove Kingfisher. This is a separate and unique sub-species of the Collared Kingfisher, the latter of which is not recognised as being found in Australia. Torresian Kingfisher is now the formal, recognised name. You can differentiate it from its cousin, the Sacred Kingfisher by the Whiter breast and more Turquoise-Green back (Sacred has a buff breast colour and more Bluer back). Taken at Wynnum boardwalks.
